The
Kings Park Psychiatric Center shut its doors in 1996. With
only 3 buildings, run by Pilgrim, used as group homes it
now sits abandoned. This site is about documenting the history
of this huge center especially this end chapter of its history,
the abandonment. Please be advised that many parts of the
center are off limits to the public, including the abandoned
buildings. You can however walk the former rail spur, as
it is now a hiking trail and part of it is now a park. |
